This is a gorgeous country house hotel, the best hereabouts I would say, and a preferred venue for family gatherings, especially lunch and afternoon tea. Steeped in history, built long before the Battle of Culloden, kind and interested staff and the chef is an absolute magician. Had Christmas Lunch here today with a warm welcome from Fiona and oh my, the food was so good and very good value.

A Serene Stay at Bunchrew House Our recent two-day escape to Bunchrew House felt like stepping into a storybook. Nestled on the shores of the Beauly Firth, the hotel offers breathtaking views across the water — especially at sunset, when the sky turns golden and reflects beautifully on the lake. We stayed in a wonderfully cozy, old-fashioned room that radiated character and comfort. Every corner of the house carries a sense of timeless charm, making it the perfect place to unwind. Dining at Bunchrew was another highlight — excellent food paired with a thoughtful, well-curated wine list made each meal feel special. Whether enjoying a quiet glass by the fire or a beautifully plated dinner, the experience was simply delightful. A truly memorable stay in a place where history, nature, and hospitality blend seamlessly.

I could not possibly have better things to say about this hotel. It was everything you could possibly want when visiting bonnie Scotland! The grounds are amazing as is the view. Its a quick ride to town and has an amazing breakfast service. The staff was all amazingly attentive and helpful and everything we could need was accounted for. They all went above and beyond. It was an unforgettable stay and I hope to go again!

Outstanding excellence in hospitality! The best breakfast ever enjoyed in any hotel and dinner was just a delight! - Euan, the head chef has a magic touch and the front of house team deliver elegant service to complement the fabulous food. Dog friendly attitude is refreshing, so if you are travelling with a pet, or an assistance dog, you’ll be made welcome - which cannot be said of many places! Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and linens white & crisp, with fluffy white towels and good facilities (like well placed lamps & sockets, for chargers and hairdryers by mirrors etc) Relaxing environment, by the Beauly Firth at the end of the Caledonian Canal so perfect travelling distances for Inverness city centre, Loch Ness, or Culloden Battlefield & Clava Cairn standing stones (if you are an Outlander fan, the history of the house being built by Lord Lovat, might be of interest? Lord Lovat was the grandfather to Jamie Fraser in the series), whether your stay is leisure or business then you can’t help but ‘switch off and relax’, with staff that treat you like a returning friend you feel ‘at home’ from the moment you walk through the door. The hotel is going through a program of upgrades, so whilst there are areas that look jaded & tired, it’s clear that improvements are being made so I’m not going to be picky about a few scuffs spotted here and there when other things were so perfect - We really enjoyed our stay - Scottish hospitality at its finest.

A stunning setting between shoreline and ancient woodland. This beautiful pink castle on the shore has a long highland history and maintains all it's rustic charm. The staff are lovely and the food is highly underrated, the chef is excellent. A lovely place to stay and a great location being just outside of the city of Inverness.
